DME System 2

Injection Electronics (Motronic Control Unit II). Wiring Diagram:

1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, disconnect the air intake sensor connector (located at the rear of the intake manifold).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the run (ON) position and make the following voltage measurement at terminal 2 of X1617 (female half).

^ Gray wire (terminal 2) and ground = approx. 5 volts If not check wire to terminal 44 of on the DME control unit for an open or short to voltage or ground. If wire is OK, DME control unit is defective.

^ If the voltage is correct continue with step 3.

3. With the ignition OFF, cancel the DME fault codes by disconnecting the DME control unit. Be sure to take note of all fault codes before cancellation.
4. With the ignition switch OFF, replace the air intake sensor.
5. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.

^ If the "Check Engine" light does not illuminate retain the air intake sensor.
^ If the "Check Engine" light illuminates and a fault code 2224 is present the DME control unit is defective.
