Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Main Fuel Pump/Fuel Filter:

NOTE: If necessary, draw off some fuel with a scavenging pump.

1. Push back the protective covers on the electrical connectors.
2. Remove the nuts and take off the electrical connectors.
3. Clamp the inlet and outlet hoses at the fuel pump.
4. Remove the chassis mounting bolts on the fuel pump/filter assembly and take out the pump with the filter.
5. Remove the fuel pump mounting strap.
6. Loosen the hose clamps and remove the fuel lines.
7. Remove the fuel pump and pull off the rubber insulating ring.
8. Reinstall in the reverse manner.
