Transmitter Battery Replacement
Normal life of a battery is one year, however, it may vary depending on the conditions and the amount of usage. To replace:
1. Place the transmitter on a flat surface with the button facing downward. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the battery case screw.
2. While holding the transmitter with the button facing upward, remove the top cover by gently lifting the lower end (key chain end) and pulling it toward yourself.
DO NOT PRY!
3. Remove the old battery and insert a new Lithium (#CR2025) battery (do not touch any parts inside the transmitter). Be certain to install battery correctly to match battery polarity.
4. Replace the top cover by inserting the upper end first.
5. Replace battery case screw and tighten.
6. Press the TX button to confirm that the LED indicator light is bright. If not, repeat the above procedure and check the battery polarity.
Attachment Ring Removal
1. Remove the top cover as described in Battery Replacement Steps 1 and 2.
2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the ring holder screw.
3. Remove the ring holder from the battery case.
4. Replace the top cover as described in Battery Replacement Steps 4 and 5.
MICRO CHIP REPLACEMENT
If a remote control transmitter is lost, the alarm system must be recoded by replacing the micro chips in the control unit and transmitter(s). These micro chips are available through the Parts Department.
Transmitter Micro Chlp Replacement
1. Remove the top cover as described in Battery Replacement Steps 1 and 2.
2. Slide the chip socket holder forward as shown.
3. Gently pull the old micro chip out of its socket.
4. Insert the replacement chip (with label side up) into the socket. Push the socket holder back to secure the chip.
5. Replace the top cover as described in Battery Replacement Steps 4 and 5.
Note: The microchips inside the control unit and the other transmitter(s) must be replaced with chips from the same replacement pack.
Control Unit Micro Chip Replacement
1. Remove the main connector, microphone plug and antenna plug from the control unit.
2. Remove the control unit from its bracket (in some vehicles, the control unit is mounted by Velcro tape).
3. While holding the control unit facing downward, remove the programming access cover.
4. Remove and replace the micro chip (Code ROM) as described in Transmitter Micro Chip Replacement Steps 2, 3 and 4.
5. Replace the programming access cover.
6. Reinstall the control unit and reconnect the main connector, the microphone plug and the antenna plug.
