Cylinder Identification Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Injection Electronics. Wiring Diagram:

1. With the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the DME control unit harness connector X1500 (control unit is located in the E-Box) see COMPONENT LOCATIONS. Make the following voltage measurements

^ Black wire (terminal 8) and ground:

Expected result: = 0 volts.

If not: check wire to sensor for a short to voltage.

^ Yellow wire (terminal 31) and ground:

Expected result: = 0 volts.

If not: check wire to sensor for a short to voltage.

^ If all voltages are correct, check wires and sensor for continuity and shorts to ground. Resistance to ground should be greater than 500k ohms. Repair/replace cylinder identification sensor and/or wires as necessary.
