Backrest Inclination
Headrest Height
Seat cushion Length
Electric motors are driven via switches arranged on the side of the seat. Both poles of the motor are connected to ground when the switch is in its basic setting. When the switch is operated, one pole is connected to B+ corresponding to the selected adjustment direction (direction of rotation), the other pole remains connected to ground. A rack and pinion system converts the rotary motion of the motors into a linear displacement motion.
Rear Seat Adjustment:
- E32 7 Series only -
As of ignition lock position 2 (terminal 15), the rear seats can be adjusted in longitudinal direction by means of switches arranged on the side of the seat. Adjustment is performed by electric motors.
In the basic setting of the switches, both poles of the motors are connected to ground. When a switch is operated, one pole is connected to B+ corresponding to the selected adjustment direction (direction of rotation), the other pole remains connected to ground. A rack and pinion system converts the rotary motion of the motors into a linear displacement motion.
The B+ supply of the motors is provided via the seat heating/adjustment relays (installation location: Rear component support bracket.
