Test 11.1:

DME defect code (ignition fade-out):

An ignition fade-out (ZA) command given by the ASC is not executed by the DME.

Other Indicators:

- Single static defect code: The ZA wire has a short to ground. "ASC defect" appears in the instrument cluster display after engine was restarted at engine speed when cruising above 2500 rpm for approx. 1 sec (test ZA in cruising phase).

Test:

- Check wire from Pin 45 to DME control unit Pin 38 for a short to ground (-).

- If necessary, replace A200 DME control unit.
