Test 11.2:

DME defect code (ignition fade-out):

An ignition fade-out command (ZA) given by the ASC is not executed by the DME.

Other indicators:

- Defect only during the ASC control phase, control can be continued via EML, "ASC defect" appears immediately in the instrument cluster display.

Test:

- Clear defect code, check for other DME defect codes during test drive, check function of ASC control (via EML).
- BMW DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. *D* Defect code memory DME.
- If necessary, replace A200 DME control unit.

*D*: Diagnostic Mode; Connect the BMW DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM to the vehicle. Select control unit and set up diagnostic mode with the control unit.
