Test Step 7.1

Test 7.1:

Jack up vehicle at rear, start engine, engage 1St gear, allow rear wheels to turn, PALA flashes since front wheels are not turning.

- Lightly press brake (until BLS switches, do not stall engine, if necessary also lightly press accelerator pedal).
- 1. PALA remains on (no longer flashes), signal brake light switch to/in ABS/ASC control unit OK.
- 2. PALA continues to flash. Check wires and connections from brake light switch to Pin 15.
- Voltage check:
- Ignition ON Pin 15 (+) and Pin 18 (-)
- Brake pedal released 0 ... 1 V
- Brake pedal depressed 11.5 ... 15.5 V
- If necessary, replace brake light switch.
- Handbrake switch voltage check:
- Pin 52 (-) and 42 (+)
- Handbrake applied 11.5 ... 12.5 V
- Check wires from handbrake switch to Pin 52.
- If necessary replace handbrake switch.
