Throttle Switch Check:

RESISTANCE TEST
- Disconnect the throttle valve switch electrical connector.
- Measure the resistance between terminal 2 and 18 of the throttle valve switch (throttle valve closed).

Resistance = 0 ohms If not, check adjustment.

- Measure the resistance between terminal 3 and 18 of the throttle valve switch (throttle valve wide open).

Resistance = 0 ohms If not, check adjustment.

Replace the throttle switch if adjustment is correct and the correct measurements are not obtained.

Throttle Valve Switch:

ADJUSTMENT
- Connect an ohm meter between pin 2 and 18 of the throttle switch.

Throttle Valve:

- Loosen screws (1) and turn the throttle switch until 0 ohms is obtained. Retighten the screws.

Resistance should rise immediately to infinite ohms when the throttle valve is opened slightly and drop to 0 ohms when the throttle valve returns to the near closed position.

NOTE: Adjust the throttle valve plate if necessary.
