Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLiNG OR REPLACING ALTERNATOR (M 30)




Disconnect battery ground lead.




Disconnect cooling air hose.

Close the opening (adhesive tape).




Remove cable.




Loosen nut (1).

Turn tensioning pinion (2) and remove the drive belt.




Unscrew and remove bolts towards the front

Remove alternator.




Installation:
Tension the drive belt before tightening the mounting bolts.

Check drive belt tightness using Special Tool 11 5 020.

Place hook on tip of tooth!
