Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Description and Operation

Accelerator Pedal Arrangement:

The accelerator pedal allows the driver to adjust the amount of engine output dependant upon varying power demands. The pedal is connected to the pedal value sender.

Pedal Value Sender:

The function of the pedal value sender is to convert the pedal position into an electrical signal for the EML control unit. The EML control unit regulates throttle opening according to stored programs via output signals to the throttle position motors. Conventional cables and linkages are not used on this system.
