Removing And Installing/Replacing Brake Linings On Both Front Disc Brakes
Note: After completion of this operation, operate brake pedal several times to enable the brake linings to make contact with the brake discs.
Remove wheels.
Disconnect plug connection (1) from brake lining sensor.
Drive out retaining pins (2).
Remove expanding spring (3).
Remove brake linings (1) with special tool 34 1 000.
Caution!
- Mark worn brake linings and refit on correct sides during installation.
- New brake linings must not be installed unless brake-disk thickness is greater than or equal to minimum thickness (MIN TH), refer to Specifications.
Note residual lining thickness of brake linings.
Caution!
- With directional brake linings, note installation position.
- Arrow (1) points in direction of travel of brake disc when viewed with vehicle in forwards direction.
Note: Check dust sleeve on brake calipers and replace if necessary.
