Interior Lighting Module: Description and Operation

1992 - 1993, ALL MODULES - ZVM CONTROL

1992 - 1993, All modules - ZVM control: The interior lights can be set for continuous on/off or automatic control by the ZVM. Fused power is supplied to the interior lights and the ZVM controls the ground when the lights are set to automatic control.
- The 1992 model has a soft on and off feature which is controlled via a pulse width modulated ground control at the ZVM.
- The 1993 model only has the soft oft feature. A capacitor on the ground side of the lamps provides a "fading" ground circuit once the ZVM or the manual switch opens.

The parameters for interior light operation are:

SWITCHED ON
- Opening a door
- Lifting a door handle with a locked door
- Switching the ignition off after the headlights have been on
- With a crash alarm input

SWITCHED OFF
- 20 seconds after closing the door
- 8 seconds after raising the door handle
- 8 seconds after switching the ignition off
- 16 minutes with an open door

A 16 minute timed arrest is activated after lifting the door handle 3 times (battery protection feature). The timed arrest is canceled after opening a door.
