1992 - 1993 E36 4 DOOR AND 1996 Z3 WITH ZVM CONTROL







The ZVM controls operating power of the power windows and sunroof through an external relay. KL R and the door contacts are monitored for relay operation. Normal window operation is possible after the ignition has been switched on. The power window switches and motors receive operating power from the relay.

When the key is switched oft, the windows and sunroof can still be operated for 15 minutes or until one of the front doors is opened. The relay holds the power supply based on a signal from the ZVM for this operating feature.







These window circuits operate by switching the power and ground through the window switches. The window circuits are protected by an inline circuit breaker.

With the introduction of the E36 Coupe, the toll/one-touch feature was added to the drivers door window on the 4 door models. This was accomplished by adding a driver's door power window motor/module as covered on the next page. Further into production at this time, the one touch features was also added to the passenger door.
