Spark Plug Sealing Ring Missing

MODELS:
E34 and E36 with M50 Engines

Situation:
Approximately 3,000 NGK spark plugs designated NGK BCPR7ER, BMW part numbers 12 12 9 059 162 (single plug) and 12 12 9 061 811 (set of six plugs), have been produced without the spark plug sealing ring and delivered to the parts distribution centers.

Note

Whenever a spark plug replacement becomes necessary on E34 or E36 vehicles with M50 engines which require the use of the NGK BCPR7ER spark plugs, verify that all of the new plugs have a sealing ring installed on them before installation. Under no circumstances should the spark plugs be installed without a sealing ring.
