Subject:
Incorrect displays under 'Status Calls' of engine control module diagnostics.

Situation:
Vehicles equipped with an engine control module M3.1 having BMW Hardware Number 1 748 401 (series introduction from 2/92) will give incorrect displays under 'Status Calls' of the engine control module diagnostics for the following specifications:

Engine speed Tank ventilation
Intake air temperature Idle speed
Spark advance angle Full-load signal
Load signal Road speed
Oxygen sensor control

Current engine control module M3.1 BMW Hardware Numbers:

STATUS LIST CORRECT STATUS LIST NOT CORRECT

The function of the engine control module is NOT AFFECTED by this condition.

Solution:
This condition will be corrected in the next version of the Diagnostic Software.
