Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING ALTERNATOR (M50)




Disconnect battery ground lead.

Remove complete air cleaner.

Remove alternator vent hose.

Remove fan and fan cowl.




Slacken and remove the ribbed drive belt.




Remove cover from connections.

Unscrew wires.

Installation:
Tightening Torque = D+ (7 Nm) / B+ (13 Nm)




Unscrew screws.

Remove alternator.




Installation:
Ensure that tab of the ribbed drive belt contacting roller engages in the opening.
