Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature Sensor Location:

PURPOSE
The intake air temperature sensors supply information to the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control units concerning the temperature of the air entering the intake systems.

OPERATION
The sensors are NTC (negative temperature co-efficient) type resistors. As temperature increases, resistance in the resistor decreases.
