SUBJECT: New BMW Special Tool

MODELS: All (equipped with Motorola CMT1000/CMT1000VR Cellular Telephone)


Situation:
To assist in the diagnostic procedure outlined in the E32/E34 Electronic Troubleshooting Manual Diagnostic Procedures (Group 65), a special set of tools has been assembled into a kit and will be sent out via the BMW Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional kits or separate pieces may be purchased through your PDC. The "Motorola Diagnostic Tool Kit" contains a magnetic mount antenna, ID transfer cable, power cable/fuse, speaker, and microphone.

The Diagnostic procedures mention use of "known good" parts. If the dealer telephone program is large, it is suggested the dealer also purchase a CMT1000 transceiver, CMT1000VR transceiver, handset, and interface box to simplify diagnostics.
