Fuel Pump: Testing and Inspection

Access Cover Location:

Access the Pump
1. Lift out the rear seat cushion.
2. Remove the insulation sheet.
3. Remove the passenger side inspection plate.

Fuel Pump Harness Connectors:

Activate the Pump
4. Remove the fuel pump electrical connections.
5. With the ignition OFF, disconnect fuel pump harness connector X638.
6. Connect a fused jumper between the positive battery terminal and the terminal on the fuel pump that corresponds to the green/violet wire of the electrical connector.
7. Connect a fused jumper between the remaining terminal on the fuel pump socket and ground.

^ The fuel pump should operate with an even, audible humming sound. No interruptions, or laboring effort should be detected. If insufficient fuel pump output is suspected refer to Checking Fuel Supply for testing procedures.
