Code 54 (Torque Converter Clutch)

TORQUE CONVERTER CONTROL
Explanation
The control unit receives simultaneously the signals gear selector lever in position P/N and torque converter clutch closed (ground signal). This operating status is impossible.

NOTE: The torque converter clutch inquiry is only displayed correctly when the engine is running. This defect code is also stored when the Electronic Transmission Control (EGS) control unit is in emergency (limited) operation mode. The EGS control unit is in emergency (limited) operation mode also in diagnostic mode!



Troubleshooting
- Check the plausibility of the signals gear selector lever and torque converter clutch using Status monitoring.
- Proceed with displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
