Defect Codes 08 - 14

Defect Codes 08 to 14:

*D* Defect code memory: Relay or ground for motor...:

Explanation:

The control module detects one of the following defects by way of diagnostic feedback (diagnostic link):

- Relay In relay module sticks In working position
- Ground line for load circuits has a break
- Diagnostic feedback (diagnostic link) has a break or wire short to positive.

Effect of defect:

For the control module, this defect always means that a relay In the relay module does not drop out (relay sticks).

As a result, the control module activates a potential equalization function In the relay module. This means: Both the relay for normal operation (close/open turn-catch) as well as the relay for motor reverse (emergency opening In the case of blocking) are switched on so that B+ is applied to both outputs for the turn-catch drive. This prevents the servo drive being switched on permanently. The potential equalization remains active until the control module detects that the defective relay has dropped out.

Since two relays are constantly switched on during potential equalization (also after ignition OFF!), this results In Increased closed-circuit current consumption (approx. 30OmA).

Troubleshooting:

- Check ground wire for load circuits. Driver's door: Relay module connector A, Pin 1 Others: Relay module connector A, Pin 15
- Check diagnostic feedback (diagnostic link) between control module (SM) and relay module (RM) for a break or short to positive.
- Check activation line between control module (SM) and relay module (RM) for a short to ground.
- If all wires are OK., then the relay In the relay module is defective. In this case, renew the relay module.

Note:

The defect code cannot be cleared via the diagnostic system!
The defect code is cleared when the control module is disconnected from the power supply.
