Defect code 53:

•D• 900 Defect code memory: 53 Full load switch:

Explanation: This defect code is stored when the throttle switch or the wire to the DME control unit Pin 53 has a short to ground (corresponds to a closed full load contact). A prerequisite for this is a load signal < 3.5 ms and idle contact closed at the same time. If the load signal drops below 5.0 ms, the full load signal is ignored by the DME control unit.
