Cylinder Identification Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The cylinder identification sensor monitors number six piston position.

OPERATION
The sensor consists of a coil wound around the number six spark plug lead. Normally the engine works with half sequential injection. However, if the sensor is defective or the signal is missing, the control unit will operate all the injectors at the same time.
