Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Pin Designations (Throttle Valve View):

- With the throttle valve closed, disconnect the throttle valve potentiometer electrical connector and connect an ohm meter between pin 6 and pin 4 of the potentiometer.

Throttle Valve:

- Loosen screws (1), and turn the throttle potentiometer until 0 ohms is obtained. Retighten the screws.

The resistance should rise immediately to infinite ohms when the throttle potentiometer is opened slightly and drop to 0 ohms when the throttle valve returns to the near closed position.
