Windows: Testing and Inspection
Registration of the actual position is accomplished with pulse sensors located on the relevant power-window drive.
The reference point for initialization is the mechanical stop with a raised power window and shut door (2-door models).
Initialization is carried out if a stop is recognized while raising the power windows after shutting the door (2-door models). For initialization, raise window and keep power-window switch in raising position for about 5 seconds.
If power windows are not initialized, tip function is blocked and clamping protection is not activated!
Initialization is checked during normal operation by carrying out a truth test of the measured position.
If no stop is recognized while raising the window within a given range, initialization is discarded and the raising tip function blocked.
If no stop is recognized while lowering the window within a given range, the initialization will also be discarded and tip function blocked in both directions.
If there is a stop while lowering the window within a given range, the initialization will be updated (adaptive initialization).
