Code 41 (Air Flow Sensor)

AIR FLOW SENSOR
Explanation
This fault is stored when shorts or breaks occur on the Air Flow Sensor (VAF [LMM]) or its leads (power supply or signal lead). Also recognition when Potentiometer Voltage (Up)/Supply Voltage (Uv) value of LMM is no longer in the normal operating range of 0.02 to 0.95 V.

NOTE: The Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit works with determined replacement values, Load Signal (tL)=3.5 ms (partial load) and 6.0 ms (full load) and ignition timing = 20 crankshaft degrees before TDC when this defect is detected.

Troubleshooting
- Check signal by means of status monitoring. Up/Uv value shows the relation between potentiometer voltage (slider) and power supply voltage (5 V) in air flow sensor.
- Proceed with displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
