Code 64 (Ignition Timing Intervention)

Defect Code 64:

•D•1 Defect code memory: 64 Ignition timing Intervention:

Explanation: This defect code is stored when a short to ground occurs on the wire from the electronic transmission control to the DME control unit Pin 64 (>2.5 sec).

Effects of defect: In such a case, ignition timing intervention only occurs once, the signal is then ignored. The automatic transmission is in the emergency operation program.

Troubleshooting:

- Check wire and connector to the electronic transmission control.

- Perform defect code monitoring on the electronic transmission control. Monitor status once again after test run.
