Defect Code 16

*D* Defect code memory: 16 Tank input from instrument cluster

Explanation:
This defect code is stored when a defect is sensed on the line "tank input from instrument cluster".

A possible effect is that the BC calculates an incorrect range value. Possible cause: Wire "tank input from instrument cluster" to BC defective.

Troubleshooting:
Check wire and repair if necessary (from white BC connector Pin 9 to instrument cluster connector X 17 Pin 10).

Note: The tank content is transferred once per second from the instrument cluster to the on-board computer (BC). This defect code is set if no information on the tank content is received by the BC for longer than 2 seconds. In this case, the BC assumes that the tank is empty in its calculations.
