*D* Defect code memory: 18 Steering column switch

Explanation:
This defect code is stored when the control unit does not detect the steering column switch.

This may result in failure of BC operation via the steering column switch.

Possible cause:
Wire from BC to steering column switch defective; steering column switch defective.

Troubleshooting:
Check wire and repair if necessary (from white BC connector Pin 4 to low beam switch S7 and further to ground ((steering column switch switches to ground after being depressed)).

If wire OK., check low beam switch and repair as required.
