Unclip and remove relay housing.
Remove forward column attachment bolt.
Install the reinforcement bracket (2) for the driver's side inboard knee bolster mount under the head of the bolt (1) as shown. (The view is from forward and above, to better show the proper position.) Tighten new bolt from parts kit to 21.4 Nm. The bracket must rest above square nut (3).
Note:
Make sure that no wiring gets trapped between the reinforcement bracket and the mounting bracket.
Install relay housing.
Install secondary knee bolster bracket between knee bolster and knee bolster support tube, using one of the knee bolster attaching bolts.
(View is from outside looking in toward the console.)
Note:
Bracket "legs" must point rearwards when knee bolster is held in its original mounting position.
Bracket can be held in place on the knee bolster during assembly with a piece of tape.
Note:
2 versions of the bracket will be produced. They will differ in that one version will have two side tabs to facilitate positioning during installation. These tabs have no effect or on the bracket's function.
