Test 13.1:

DME defect code (ignition fade-out feedback):

Incorrect voltage potential (high) at ZA output of the ASC control unit due to fault in the ZA wire.

In the case of static defect: The ASC push button light remains off when the ignition is switched on. After starting the engine, "ASC defect" appears in the instrument cluster display.

Test:

- Check 55-pin connector that it is firmly fitted and connected correctly at the ABS/ASC control unit. Clear defect code, start engine, read out flash code once again.
- If necessary, renew ABS/ASC control unit.
- In the case of intermittently occurring defect:
- With control, further control possible via the EML, without control, system is switched off immediately. "ASC defect" appears immediately in the instrument cluster display.
- Check 55-pin connector X7 that it is firmly fitted and connected correctly at the ABS/ASC control unit. Clear defect code, carry out test drive. Read out flash code once again.
- If necessary, replace ABS/ASC control unit.
