On-Board Computer (BC IV)

On-Board Computer (BC IV):

Functional Description:

Depending upon the vehicle terminals, the on-board computer processes the signals from the vehicle systems, pickups, sensors and the keypad and it displays the resulting driver functions on the alphanumeric display.

System components: The on-board computer system basically consists of the on-board computer, signal generator/sensor Systems, driven systems, vehicle
terminals with serial interfaces (diagnosis, instrument cluster display).

On-board computer assemblies: Display, keypad, electronic circuitry Signal generator/sensor Systems: ti-signal (fuel consumption), v-signal, tank sending
unit, outside temperature sensor.

Driven systems: Multiple gong, antitheft horn relay, start interlock, relay for independent ventilation/independent heating (SA).

Vehicle terminals and serial interfaces: Terminals: 31, 31 g, 30, R, 15s, 50u, 58g; front lid contact, radio contact, check control button, steering column assembly switch, serial interfaces to instrument
cluster for diagnosis.

Scope of Functions:

HR/DATE Time/date, hour gong on request
TIMER Independent ventilation/independent heating (2 switching times)
SPEED Average traveling speed
LIMIT Individual limit speed (warning gong)
CONSUME Two average consumption values
RANGE Range with average consumption
TEMP Outside temperature (frost warning gong)
CODE Numerical code for vehicle safeguarding
DIST Current distance to destination
ARR Expected arrival at destination
