Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The vehicle speed signal is used by the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit to indicate an idle condition (i.e.. 0 mph).

OPERATION
The vehicle speed input is generated by the vehicle speed sensor and processed by the instrument cluster circuit board.
