Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The intake air temperature sensor supplies information to the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit concerning the temperature of the air entering the intake system.

OPERATION
The sensor is an NTC (negative temperature co-efficient) type resistor. As temperature increases, resistance in the resistor decreases.
