Code 82 (Eng. Drag Torque Control Intervention)

INTERVENTION IN ENGINE DRAG TORQUE CONTROL (MSR)
Explanation
This trouble code is stored when pin 82 of the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit receives battery voltage for more than 5 sec.

NOTE: This trouble code can be ignored if no Electronic Throttle Control (EML) control unit is installed.

Troubleshooting
- Status monitoring. With the ignition switched "Off" or with the engine idling, the nominal value for the MSR signal = "OFF". if the display shows "ON", this indicates a short to positive.
- Check wire and control unit.
- Proceed with displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
