Windscreen Heating

Note: Windscreen heating is no longer fitted during the course of model year 1990.

Operation
If the ignition is switched on and the outside temperature is less than 5°C (41°F), the IHKA control unit switches the windscreen heating relay and the heating element heats up. The windscreen heater remains switched on for as long as the value of the outside temperature sensor of the IHKA is less than 8°C (43°F). The windscreen heater is switched off when the outside temperature increases to above 8°C (43°F).
