Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVING PEDAL VALUE SENDER
With the ignition switch "Off", remove trim panel for dashboard at bottom left.





Unscrew nut and pull arm off of pedal value sender.





Unscrew both screws and disconnect plug.





Turn pedal value sender until eyelet (2) can be taken out of the opening.





Turn pedal value sender until eyelet (1) can be taken out.





Tilt pedal value sender until clips of the cover come out of the opening first.





Turn pedal value sender until the eyelets are again aligned with the hole pattern of the holder. Remove pedal value sender.


INSTALLING PEDAL VALUE SENDER





Picture shows opening in the pedal console. Use spacers between sender and pedal assembly.





Turn pedal value sender until mounting tabs (1 and 2) are positioned above the mounting bores of the pedal console.





Then suddenly tilt the pedal value sender upwards so that it can be worked into the pedal console opening.





Work in pedal value sender completely.





Turn pedal value sender until eyelet (1) can be worked in through the oval opening of the pedal console.





Eyelet (1) mounted in the pedal console.





Turn pedal value sender that eyelet (2) can be worked in through the oval opening of the pedal console.
- Screw on pedal value sender.
- Tighten screws.
- Connect plug.
- Check adjustment and function
