Cylinder Identification Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The cylinder identification sensors monitor the positions of number six and twelve pistons.

OPERATION
The sensors consist of a coil wound around the number six and twelve spark plug lead. Normally the engine works with half sequential injection. However, if the sensor is defective or the signal is missing, the control unit will operate all the injectors at the same time.
