Cylinder Identification Sensor: Service and Repair

Cylinder Identification Sensor:

Remove and Install
- Remove the distributor cap cover.
- Remove number 6 ignition lead from the distributor cap and cut off the ignition lead shielded plug (Digital Motor Electronic (DME) system 1). Remove number 12 ignition lead from the distributor cap and cut off the ignition lead shielded plug (DME system 2).
- Cut the sender off of the ignition lead.
- Slide the new sensor onto cylinder 6 (DME 1), 12 (DME 2) ignition lead approximately 3 in.
- Replace the ignition lead end and shielded plug.
- Reinstall the number 6 (DME 1), 12 (DME 2) ignition lead at the distributor cap.
- Reinstall the distributor cap cover.
