Code 12 (DK Motors or Control Unit)

CONTROL UNIT OR THROTTLE POSITION MOTORS (DK) CYL. 1-6 OR 7-12
Explanation
This defect code is stored when the control unit detects a defect at the Electronic Throttle Control (EML) control unit or the throttle position motors.

Troubleshooting
- Verify correct operation of throttle switch 17° (status monitoring): Pedal not depressed = "ON", Pedal fully depressed = "OFF".
- Check voltage values of EML Throttle Valve (DK) potentiometer (status monitoring): should vary between 4.37-3.25V (pedal not depressed/pedal fully depressed)
- Check lines between control unit and DK motors for breaks or shorts
- Proceed with other displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
- Test with exchange unit
