Exhaust System: Service and Repair

Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor.
Unclip the cable from the retainer.





Loosen the bolt connection of the flange on the exhaust manifold.

Installation:
Check seal, replacing where indicated.
Replace self-locking nuts. Lightly coat the thread with copper paste -CRC-.





Loosen the clamp on the exhaust bracket.

Installation:
After the installation of the exhaust system is complete, align the exhaust bracket without tension.





Disconnect rubber ring on rear-axle carrier.

Installation:
Check the rubber gaskets for damage and replace if necessary.





Rear muffler with bracket
Disconnect the rear retaining bracket on left and right sides.
Take off exhaust assembly in downwards direction.





Installation:
Check the rubber mount for damage and replace if necessary.
Preload rubber mount in forwards driving direction by distance A =15 mm.

Note: Loosen the collar nut with the clamp on the final muffler. Take off exhaust assembly in downwards direction.

Installation:
Tightening torque, refer to Exhaust System, Specification.





Installation:
Check position of tailpipe relative to cutout in body.
If necessary, loosen the flanged joint and rubber suspensions; align and refasten the exhaust system.
