II. Installation of Repair Cable on Left Side
^ Cut the wrap securing the looped portion of one repair cable in order to use the full length of the cable. Feed one end through the opening between the engine compartment and the wheel well (1).
^ Route the repair cable between the connector housing and the chassis (2) and along the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Lead to the speed sensor mounting screw.
^ Remove the screw (1) securing the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor to the spindle assembly. Using a 6 x 1.00 mm tap, clean the threaded hole (to ensure a good ground contact). Attach the repair cable with the sensor mounting screw.
^ Cut a 60 mm long piece of the spiral tubing included in the repair kit. Wrap this tubing around both cables (the repair cable and the ABS Sensor Lead) (2) from the sensor mounting screw to the plastic mounting clip on the strut (3).
^ Use the remainder of the spiral tubing to cover both cables from the plastic mounting clip on the strut (1) to the connector housing.
^ In the area of the vulcanized rubber grommet (2) of the speed sensor cable (attached to the strut), leave the grommet pressed into the holder, and bring the spiral tubing (containing the repair cable) outside the speed sensor cable. Do not cut the spiral tubing. Once past the grommet, continue wrapping the two cables together.
^ Clip the cables into the cable holders (1) and refasten them. Route the repair cable in the same channel as the cable for the brake pad wear sensor.
^ Install the plastic wheel well panel.
^ Reinstall the connector housing with the nut (2).
^ Close the connector housing (3).
