SUBJECT:
Transmission Shudder

*MODEL:
E36 - 318iA, 318tiA with M42 engine produced 1/94-12/95*

Situation:

A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT pertaining to the following may be encountered:

^ Transmission appears to be "slipping"/shuddering when pulling away from a stop.

^ Vehicle shakes/vibrates as if "driving over a gravel road".

Correction:

A modified transmission control module (EGS) EPROM P/N 01 00 1 469 811 is available to address the above mentioned customer complaint.

Procedure:

Refer to S.I. 24 05 95 (4294) for instructions on removing and installing the EPROM in the EGS control module.
