Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

RESISTANCE TEST
- Disconnect the sensor harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and 2 of the sensor.

Resistance should be 1.45 K ± 140 ohms.

- Measure the resistance between terminals (1 and 3) and terminals (2 and 3).

Resistance should be Greater than 100 K ohms.

If the correct measurements are not obtained, replace the sensor.

DYNAMIC TEST
- Disconnect the sensor harness connector.
- Connect an oscilloscope between terminal 1 and 2 of the sensor connector.
- Crank the engine.

Camshaft Signal:

- If the oscilloscope pattern does not resemble the reference pattern, verify proper installation of the sensor.

If the sensor has been installed properly, replace the sensor.
