Transmission Mode Switch: Testing and Inspection

PROGRAM BUTTON
Check the program button with the aid of the universal adapter with the control unit connected and ignition switched "ON". Measure between Pin 19 (-) and the specified pins. "0" corresponds to approx. 0 V, "1" corresponds to approx. 12 V.





If inputs in control unit are not plausible: Check ground connection to program button (Pin 31 E at socket, see diagrams) and repair if necessary. If OK, remove program button, check in accordance with switch diagram and replace if necessary. If OK, check wire and plug connection, repair if necessary. Otherwise replace control unit.

If outputs from the control unit are not plausible, the program display in the instrument cluster indicates incorrect reading or does not function.
