Code 1 (Fuel Pump Relay)

Defect Code 1:

•D•1 Defect code memory: 1 TR signal/EKP relay:

Explanation: This defect code is stored when a short occurs at the EKP relay or on the control wire to the DME control unit Pin 1. This defect code is only stored when another defect has already been detected.

Effects of defect: The fuel pump relay is not activated. The EGS control unit receives no TR signal.

Troubleshooting: The TR signal (engine speed signal once per revolution) is output, when the engine is running, at Pin 1 of the DME control unit and is routed via the electrical fuel pump relay to the EGS control unit.

Possible causes: Wires, connectors or electronic fuel pump relay defective.
