REMOVAL

Catalytic Converter Removal:





1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor and unclip the harness mount.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





2. Unscrew exhaust pipes on manifolds.
3. Support the exhaust assembly with a lifting fixture.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





4. Unscrew transmission exhaust bracket.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





5. Disconnect rubber rings on center suspension.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





6. Unscrew holder for final muffler.
7. Lower the exhaust assembly.

Catalytic Converter Flange Connection:





8. Disconnect the catalytic converter from the muffler assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Lubricate the catalytic converter-muffler flange lightly with copper paste.
2. Install new seals.

NOTE: Seals are different for each pipe.

3. Reinstall the flange bolts (do not torque at this time). Flanges must be parallel. Turn flanges until maximum ground clearance is provided.
4. Install new exhaust manifold flange gaskets.
5. Lift the exhaust assembly into place with a lifting fixture.
6. Install new self locking nuts at the exhaust manifold flange. Torque to 40 ft. lbs.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





7. Reinstall holder for final muffler. Slide holder forward (A), until rubber rings are preloaded by 15 mm. Tighten the clamp bolts to 16 ft. lbs.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





8. Reinstall rubber rings at the center suspension point.

Catalytic Converter Removal:





9. Torque the catalytic converter-muffler flange bolts to 16 ft. lbs.
10. Reinstall transmission exhaust bracket and tighten the to 16 ft. lbs.
11. Reconnect the oxygen sensor and reinstall mounting clip.
12. Check for exhaust leaks and correct exhaust assembly alignment.
