Code 8 (Malfunction Indicator Lamp)

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP
Explanation
This trouble code is stored if a break or short occurs at the fault lamp or on its supply wire.

NOTE: The defect lamp will not light in the case of short to positive, but, remains lit continuously in the case of a short to ground.

Troubleshooting
- Connect wire (control unit Pin 8) to ground and switch "On" ignition. The fault lamp in the instrument cluster should light, if necessary, check lamp and voltage supply.
- Proceed with displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions if applicable.
