SUBJECT:
"Transmission Program" displayed in Instrument Cluster

MODEL:
E38 - 740111 LA with M60 engine E38- 7501 LA with M73 engine

Situation:
Customer complains of the following:

^ "Transmission Program" message is displayed in the instrument cluster and that the transmission continued to operate normally while the message was displayed.

In checking the transmission control module for faults, no faults are stored.

Cause:
Error in the evaluation logic of the IKE.

Correction:
On a customer complaint basis only.

Remove the IKE and check the part number on the IKE label.

If the part number is 62 11 8 361 362 or 62 11 8 364 006 replace the IKE with the latest version.
